Emily Reid
Audiology Assistant
Emily grew up in Fairmount, IN, and graduated from Madison-Grant High School. She is currently enrolled at Nova Southeastern University, where she is working toward her audiology assistant certification.
The world of hearing care has always interested Emily, and when her youngest child needed to have tubes placed, she found herself doing a lot of research. She was really intrigued and wanted more knowledge in the field. This fascination is what led Emily to us!
Emily’s daily responsibilities at Family Hearing Care include assisting Dr. Tomlin and Dr. Kiser with patient care, along with checking/cleaning hearing aids, ordering supplies, connecting phones to hearing aids, and performing other office duties.
She enjoys making a difference in someone’s life and says it is the most rewarding part of working in healthcare. The more she learns about hearing care, the more Emily loves it.
Witnessing how hearing care is not only important for the longevity of life but also seeing what a huge difference it makes in someone’s life is just the most heartfelt thing she’s experienced thus far in her working career, and she’s been in healthcare for over 10 years. Emily loves getting to know someone’s story and watching them go from not hearing very well to being able to understand and hear.
When she’s not working, Emily enjoys spending time with her two little girls and her husband. She likes farming alongside her husband and going camping on the weekends. Reading and tending to her garden are some of her other favorite interests.
